Couldn’t resist these sapphire stripes! This c. 1920 platinum evening watch is set with alternating rows of sapphire baguettes and old cut diamonds. The movement was made by Swiss watchmaker Vogt & Co, which would later become the luxury manufacturer Fortis, that still makes watches today. The movement is a 17 jewelled movement, or “fully jewelled” watch. The watch is running and in several tests, appears to keep good time.
The watch is on a silk ribbon band, which appears to be original. This could be switched for another ribbon.
Materials: Platinum, diamonds, sapphires. The clasp of the band has not been tested but is believed to be white metal.
Size: Watch is currently on its original ribbon strap, which is adjustable, but fits a smaller wrist. When fully extended to put on, the interior of the ribbon strap measures 20 cm. This ribbon could be replaced by a tailor or simply tied onto the wrist
Dimensions: Face measures 2.5cm tall x 1.5cm wide. Band measures 1 cm wide.
Condition: Very good antique condition. The watch is running and appears to keep time. There is one minor chip to the topmost sapphire on the right.
Markings: Case is marked for platinum. Movement is market for Vogt & Co
