I’m having a love affair with jet glass at the moment, and it’s pieces like this that are doing it to me. Black jewellery came into fashion after Queen Victoria wore black Whitby Jet pieces to mourn Prince Albert’s Death in 1861. Jet glass came into fashion around the same time, and was a lighter, less expensive alternative to Whitby Jet.

This collar is incredibly dramatic, and I love the movement of the fringe. Pieces like this look incredibly beautiful in low light - perfect for the fall and holiday seasons. The piece is comfortable to wear and really dresses things up.
