I bought this ring for myself as I thought it would be an incredible pinkie ring. I loved the swooping design and the architectural nature of the piece as a whole. However, after owning if for some time, the piece is so well made that I would hesitate to size it down dramatically and alter the carefully planned proportions.
This ring likely dates to the late 70s or early 80s. The maker took great pains to tell us about the stones that were used - in this case, a natural sapphire of .27cts and 10 diamonds. The ring is ultra comfortable, and tactile and I love the way it sits slightly above the finger. As a fan of retro tank jewellery, I love the similarities here.
The ring could potentially be resized, 1-2 sizes, but I wouldn’t recommend changing it much more than that.
