This c. 1820 Georgian forget-me-not pendant was likely a piece of mourning jewellery, and may have originally had a hair panel on the reverse. I have added a larger 18ct bale, and love this piece as a sentimental pendant. Forget me nots were both a mourning and a romantic symbol. These 3 blooms are made of turquoise and 18ct gold, with ruby centres and incredibly detailed leaves and stems.
I always feel a sense of pride when my bench jeweller is impressed by a piece I bring him, and loved his reaction to the fine gold work on display in this piece.
