As fetter link chains go, this chunky 1917 version is just about perfect. The links are impeccable - chunky throughout with crisp hallmarks and no signs of thinning. The colour is a warm antique gold. The oversized dog clips and removable t-bar are original to the chain. The chain is stamped for Birmingham 1917 - tiny detail, but always love a date stamp on a chain!
On it’s own, it measures a wearable 15.75”, but I happened upon some really well matched antique chain, so thought I’d gild the lily a bit and add an extender, which can also be used with other pieces. When worn together - the chain measures 19.5.” The extender is finished with an antique dog clip giving another opportunity to hang pendants and charms.
This is just an ultra versatile, staple piece, and to date, I have not come across one in better condition.
