This heavy spinner fob features two intaglios - the carnelian side features a leopard and and a double eagle - the layout usually the result of a union of the crests of two families coming together through marriage. The leopard carries a staff in his mouth and has highly detailed spots and whiskers. The double eagle bears a cross on its chest that still has slight remnants of wax from being used as a seal.
The reverse of the piece bears a decorative monogram, with a prominent central B and two smaller letters on either side, which appear to read R and P.
The fob is topped with the original bale, which is equal in thickness to the heavy gold below. The piece is unmarked but tests as 15 carat.
