This horseshoe was originally atop a stick pin, but I converted it to a pendant adding a large 18ct jump ring. The piece is in excellent condition, and is ultra bright and sunny courtesy of its soft, bloomed finish. Blooming is the process of dipping a piece into acid, leaving only a layer of pure gold at the surface.
The horseshoe features 7 nails as a nod to lucky number 7, and is mounted in a U shape to “hold” the luck of the wearer. Just an all around great little antique piece.
Materials: 18ct gold. The horseshoe is hollow.
Weight: 2.6 grams. The body of the horseshoe is hollow.
Dimensions: 1.9cm wide, 2 cm long excluding bale
Color: bloomed (high carat) yellow gold
Condition: Very antique condition. The small pinhole on the reverse is a result of the jewellery making process. Hairline split under top right edge that does not affect wearability.
