This piece started as a fob, and I have converted it to a pendant attaching the original bale to the original intaglio frame. The chalcedony seal features the head of an antelope emerging from a rose, above a three flowered shield and the motto “Dum Spiro Spero” or “While I breathe, I hope.” Needless to say, I absolutely love the sentiment of this piece. As it is chalcedony, the carving is more subtle. I love this on a larger piece as, though it is chunky, the motto feels quite personal. A phrase to live by if there ever were one.
The bale measures 7mm across - perfect for larger midweight chains or larger dog clips.
