I’ll preface this description by saying I am not typically a lover of cameos - in fact, this is the first one I have ever purchased. That said, I saw this piece and fell in love with the incredible detail. The cameo is a portrait of an ornately dressed woman wearing a decorative brocade dress and diaphanous lace collar. Her hair is intricately plaited and she sports a drop earring and a bodice brooch - jewellery wearing jewellery is just so cool! The cameo is set in a 15ct frame, set with rose cut diamonds and pearls. The back of the piece features an empty bevelled glass locket and removable pin so the piece can be fully converted to a pendant. All in all, a magnificent, one of a kind, heirloom piece.
