A beautifully made antique fob featuring a standing heron in bloodstone and a monogram in carnelian on the reverse. This was originally a spinner fob, but I have reconfigured it so that the heron sits vertically. Herons are keen fishers, and a standing pose came to represent patience and calm power. The heron is very finely carved, and can be identified by the tiny tuft of feathers on its head.
The reverse intaglio features a monogram, which appears to be CEM.
The frame around the stones is 15ct and the fob is 18ct.
Materials: Top of the fob is 18ct. The frame around the bloodstone and carnelian is 15ct.
Dimensions: 1.3cm wide x 2.4 cm tall, excluding bale. Bale is 6mm.
Color: Yellow gold
Condition: Excellent antique condition. The top of the pendant has a small indentation where the original spinner sat.
Markings: None
