I am always hunting for something a bit different and this gold and enamel Albertina fit the bill! This incredibly versatile Albertina features a decorative double link chain, alternating with rectangular black enamel links. Love a piece that does double duty, and I can’t decide how I like to wear this one more - as a bracelet on its own, or with another chain as a dramatic necklace. It is truly one of the more unique Albertinas I have had the pleasure of coming across.
If worn as a bracelet, the dog clip can clip on at any length of the chain, giving tremendous optionality. I am wearing it here, so that one of the black enamel links hangs. I love the length of the decorative tassel - it just looks so cool on the hand.
The piece can also be clipped into an additional chain to be worn as a necklace. The enamel and decorative links dress things up a bit and keep it interesting, but the chain is light enough for everyday wear and stacking.
Material: Antique 9ct gold (stamped on dog clip), black enamel
Length: 21.5 cm when worn at full length. Dog clip can be clipped anywhere along the bracelet to shorten, and excess links on tassel could be used to extend it as needed.
Weight: 11.3 grams
Condition: Good antique condition. Some wear to enamel and links, one chain missing from tassel. Appears that the dog clip may have been originally gilded.
